Finally, after a solid month of working on this and several more designing the figure, I have completed a “Transformable Power Up Optimus Prime”.
What makes this “Power Up Prime” unique is that it is probably the most movie/ concept art accurate “Power Up Prime” that has detachable Jet Fire armour so that Optimus Prime can transform into truck mode.
Plus, the way the attachments are designed are so that different parts of the armour moves with body parts to maintain high articulation in “Power Up” mode.
above.

Do you know of any one that is doing a “Buster” optimus prime blaster that can be bought just by itself?
Hi Mike, Not that I know of. Sorry!
how did you get the “shin guards together and the whole back assembley?i tried different things with my custom but now i cant cause its glued in one position.
Hi David, thanks for the comment!
The shin guards and the whole back assembly are each individual units that are epoxyed together from different kit-bashed parts. These “units” then attach to Prime via magnets. Magnets are embedded in Prime as well as epoxyed to the undersides of the “units”.
Does that make sense?

Hey, that is one damn great custom Prime you’ve got there! What was the BFG and the Double gatling gun made of?
Hi,
The BFG was combined from a video game gun replica (I cannot remember which one but I could just buy the gun and assembled it) and Jet Fire parts. The ammo belt is a model tank track.
The other gun is a GI Joe gatlin gun (comes with several figures from the movie series) with the Jetfir gatline gun added to it. Same type of ammo belt.
Hope it helps.

Oh yeah, and one more question, Did JetFire’s cane help in making this magnificent custom?
Nope, I did not use the cane and I did gut and cut up Jet Fire pretty bad.
Ohhhhh,okay,thanks for the info! 🙂
specifically what part did you use to build his jet pack?
It is a bit too complicated to explain. At least 4 – 5 parts from Jet Fire, Gundam and custom cut from metal – the red parts. The Jet Fire parts were also custom cut out, shaped and shaded. Use my model or the concept art and try to look at different toys that might fit in terms of parts. Star Wars and other space craft toys may also work.
great. thanks a lot.
can you recall which gun dam did you use
MS 18E Kampfer. Also a Stars Wars Crab Droid for parts of the feet and extensions for the jet thrusters.
great. I’ve been following this thread for some time now and I used the crab droid for primes feet and it worked great.
which of the crab droin feet did you use for the jet thrusters
Not for the actual thruster but the extensions. The Thruster cylinder was cut from an aluminum tubing and parts from Jet Fire etc were epoxied on.
Hi!
Your custom is avesome, but can you tell me how to make the swords to be re attachable on ROTF prime? The arm articulation is annyoing me with those swords but I dont want to screw them out all the time. Please help 🙂
Thanks! You first need to remove the blades and cut off the “spokes”. Then you need flat disc magnets. Epoxy one to each end of each blade and and one on the inside of the arm where you want the blades to be. The disc magnets will allow you to swivel the blades out or just detach completely. The magnets you wants are flat disc ones like those found here http://www.supermagnetman.net/

Thanks so much!
