Yesterday’s filming saw us on location at Little India, Singapore’s cultural Indian enclave. Our preview video that helped push the 3D TV show through was shot in Little India 2 months ago and we revisited many of the same locations.
From the Little India Arcade to the iconic temple and alleys of Little India, we shot various magic effects including some freezing “Bandung” (a local drink made from rose syrup and milk) and floating trinkets.
Also making a cameo appearance in the show is Bosco Francis, a veteran fire eater and bizarre magician. He was also the star of Eric Khoo’s “My Magic”. This Singapore Tamil language drama was the 1st Singapore film to be nominated for the Palme D’Or, the top award for film at the Cannes Film Festival. Ironically, we were supposed to work with Bosco in 2008 on our “Ultimate Magic” show at The Arena but the plan changed when he had to do publicity for “My Magic”. So, it is fitting that we finally got to work together.
We “caught” Bosco in the middle of a performance and then sat down with him for a chat at Khulif Bar. Ning & I compared the differences between our magic and Bosco’s magic and performed demonstrations to showcases the differences. It was a great shoot and will be very interesting for viewers.
After dinner, we headed to Haji Lane, just off Arab Street where we were shooting another link. Previously, I go to do a bit of juggling at Orchard Rd. This time, Ning got to show off her fire twirling skills in this link that will lead into another segment to be filmed later in the week.

With this shoot done, we are now preparing for a very “alternative” segment that features a metal music band, our Impalement Cage, a straight jacket and Ning’s sais. Sounds whacked out?
