Great Backstage Interview with “Box Jumpers”

“Box Jumper” refers to a magician’s assistant, typically female. As the female assistant regularly jumps in and out of illusion props (boxes), the name “Box Jumper” became a nickname.

Hans Klok is one of my favourite illusionists in the world to watch and a lot of credit has got to go to his “Divas of Magic”. They are really incredible and could possibly be the best illusion assistant team around.

Back in 2008, Hans Klok played Las Vegas with Pamela Anderson as the “box jumper” for part of the show. When it was first announced, I thought she was a perfect fit with her look and over-the-top style that fit Hans well too.

Judging by the interview below, she also has a great attitude and respects the art. The interview also features the “Divas of Magic” who shared the hazards of their job.

We can relate completely to their stories as we have suffered countless bruises and cuts. Ning got more bruises in a 3-year period than she probably got during the rest of her life.

Here is a promo for the show that ran in Vegas in 2008. IMO, it is one of the best magic show trailers I have watched:

Oh, remember, the Magic Boutique Chinese New Year Sale mega sale is on till this coming Wed. There are still quite a number of items left including several illusion books.

Check it out here.

Hi, thank you for posting all these useful information! 🙂

I am really interested to learn and become a magician’s assistant, or what you call the ‘box jumper’, however I have no experience or connections and I have no idea where to begin. Some advice please? 🙂
