Review of Ron Bauer 2008 Lecture Notes

Ron Bauer is one of the “old guards” in magic and is well respected for his seniority and experience in magic. This is a set of lecture notes that are to complement his live lecture.

The problem is that the notes are a complement so you are better off with it if you attend the lecture. The other problem is that he refers the reader to his “Private Studies Series” which are 24 different booklets sold separately. This set of Lecture Notes really offers additional ideas and handlings to the above series. There are some new ideas and explanations of two sleights “Two-Card Turnover Technique” and “Riffle Action Palm”.

He did give some valuable insight on his performance and act structuring philosophy but it was really a bit too brief. He also shares a Card from Card Case, that is similar but slightly different from Matt Schullian’s card from card case handling.

For the price, unfortunately, I do not think this set of lecture notes are worth it at US$20.00. Based on value for money, 1.5 stars out of 5 stars.

You can buy it here from Ning’s sexy Magic Boutique here.
