After weeks of discussions with TV producers and lots of brainstorming, we have almost finalized the magic & illusion ideas that we have developed for two TV shows. Both shows are completely different in nature and we will be bringing our brand of illusion in different ways from before.
I can’t reveal anything about the shows yet but for Show #1 we developed two original effects for our featured appearance; one illusion and one “street magic” type effect. The challenge was to create something that is fresh, has not been seen before and fits our brand and image.
Last year, we did a whole bunch of illusions for Channel 8’s “Five Star Carnival” as well as presented an illusion for Star World’s “Asia Uncut”. Incidentally, our “Asia Uncut” appearance uploaded onto Youtube is one of the most viewed among all the other “Asia Uncut” videos… almost 13,000 views.
So, this year, we made a conscious decision to do something different for our TV appearances, which is why we were thrilled to do “The Noose”. Next week when we film, we will push the envelope even more in a bid to bring our personalities to a bigger mainstream audience. I’ll keep you posted as soon as I can reveal the shows.
We are also in the midst of developing two mega illusions. I have a gut feeling that one will go through. Again, like our TV content, the challenge is to present something completely from anything we have done before and will capture the imagination of the public and media. We have done 6 mega-scale events till date “The Impossible Teleportation” (2007), “The Impalement Cage” (2008), “The Impossible Journey” (2008), “The Impossible Record” (2009), “Destination X” (2009) and “The Impossible 4D Prediction” (2010). All the stunts were a hit and achieved mainstream success and publicity.
So, what is next?
Well, we still have several mega illusions “up our sleeves” (pun intended) and are looking forward to raising the bar once again. I’ve drawn up the design plans for one of the mega illusions and even a fabrication production schedule. Design-wise, it is a combination of 3 illusions I’ve designed so it is not too unfamiliar territory. It also employs 7 different illusion techniques that we have utilized previously for smaller-scale illusions but never all in one single illusion. The result should be fairly spectacular 🙂
Stay tuned for developments.
