Ning & I took the stage to address the audience and explain “The Impossible Record”. The crowd was very warm and supportive. Camera flashes were literally flashing throughout the sea of people.
We introduced the representatives of the Singapore Book of Records and International Brotherhood of Magicians who were adjudicating the record attempt.
As we made final preparations, the audience watched Ning’s daring “Inversion” escape on the screens just before we started the record attempt.
The actual record attempt went as perfectly as we could have hoped given the tough outdoor conditions and uncontrollable environment – a constant feature of our mega events. We managed to complete the “360 Sawing” illusions just as time ran out, even though there was not enough time to let Ning out of the prop.
However, the illusion was still counted as the agreement with the adjudicators was that as long as the illusion effect was complete, the illusion would be counted, even if the choreography of the illusion was not finished.
Check out the some photos of the world record act here:
The first illusion was my magical appearance from an empty crystal cabinet that filled itself with smoke.
Moments before ‘Magic Babe’s’ stunning magical appearance!
The magical appearance of a girl after we produced a motorcycle an illusion act before.
A close shave as our girl almost lost her balance when she magically exploded/ appeared from nowhere. But, her cat-like flexes kept her up. Whew! You’ve got to love a live show!
Moments before Ning pushes a bed of spikes through my body
Ning makes a magical reappearance in the 12th illusion of the act with 1.34min left on the clock
Ning vanishes instantly in a blaze of pyrotechnics and teleports herself into…
“360 Sawing” where she is promptly divided in half..
and her upper body is rotated around her lower body!
Giving a victory pose upon learning that the adjudicators endorsed us completing 15 illusions in 5 minutes.
