We are really honoured that both the local and international HQ of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) are officially supporting “The Impossible Record” that will take place on 27 Jun 2009, Sat @ 9.30pm Central Promenade by the Singapore River.
Joan Caesar, International President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (U.S.A.) wrote to us to wish us luck!
“Dear J C Sum, ‘Magic Babe’ Ning and members of Ring 115,
It is with great interest and pleasure I will look forward to hearing of your successful entry into the Guinness World Records for performing 15 illusions in 5 minutes. It is an almost impossible feat you have undertaken and I wish you success.
Magic is the only art form that produces a sense of awe and wonder for its audience. That, along with the competitive aspect of this event will make it an exciting occasion for all who watch it.
I wish I could be there to cheer you on. Be assured, I am there in spirit, and look forward to hearing that you successfully complete the Guinness requirements.
The membership of the I.B.M. around the world thank you for advancing the Art of Magic through your ‘The Impossible Record’ event.
International President, International Brotherhood of Magicians”
Of course, our very own chapter of the IBM is officiating the record attempt as well by providing a 3-person committee to provide the technical magic knowledge to complement the adjudication by the Singapore Book of Records.
Preparations are on the way for the “The Impossible Record” as we speak. But, we will really only get into full swing after our debut performance on the Esplanade Concert Hall stage this Sat as part of the Old Victorian “Nil Sine Labore” concert. You can buy tickets @ $25 each for this show here.
Ning & I were interviewed in ST Life! page 9 today with regards to this show. We will also be presenting our new “360 Sawing” for the first time. Rehearsals for the past week have been brutal with Ning getting whiplash and me getting a nasty bruise on my arm. But, if all goes well, it is going to be wicked!
