Impromptu Magic for Kids

For the first 4 years of my career, besides, close-up magic, I was performing exclusively birthday parties and kid shows for family events. It is all part of the ‘rites of passage’ that all working pros go through as we work our way up. There are exceptions to that rule actually but very very few…

While we were filming our Street Magic series in 2006, I generally avoided performing for kids as we filmed the content. They were not our target audience. However, I felt that at least one episode should have kids as the primary audience, so we taped the following segment. I remember seeing this group of students and on the spur of the moment asked the camera crew to start filming.

I had a finger ring on and rubberband and performed this routine based on work by Garrett Thomas, Daniel Garcia, Michael Ammar and own variations.
