A lot on our plate for May & June 2009

We will be performing our last show for Season 2 of “Ultimate Magic” today and the show will be on a two-week break from tomorrow.

We start “Ultimate Magic: The Revolution” on 2 May 2009 but tickets go on sale tomorrow, 14 Apr 2009! This brand new version of “Ultimate Magic” will feature new show days/ times, revised ticket prices, new marketing, new illusions, costumes and management. My team will be in direct control of the marketing & publicity for the show for the first time! Whoot! All brand new publicity material will be revealed tomorrow as well 🙂

The last few weeks have been crazy getting everything ready for the new “Ultimate Magic” but that is not all…

Besides performing almost daily for “Ultimate Magic” at The Arena, we will be performing our usual corporate gigs. We will also have been approached by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to be a key highlight in this year’s “Singapore River Festival” once again! Last year, they approached us to work with Central to come up with a mega illusion after seeing our success with “The Impossible Teleportation”, The Impalement Cage” and “Ulitmate Magic” projects. We came out with the idea and illusion method to teleport 3 Central shoppers across the Singapore River and the rest is history.

With the success of “The Impossible Journey”, teleportation over the Singapore River in 2.5 seconds, STB contacted us two months ago to see if we could come up with something different but just as spectacular and newsworthy. We anticipated this last year so had a few ideas that we pitched to them.

A long story short… we will once again be staging a “mega magic” (to borrow a term from Franz Harary) event for the Singapore River Festival! This will be completely different from anything Ning & I have done before and it will be a fresh exciting magic event that is targeted to draw 8,000 people to experience it. Once again, it will be a first of its kind live mega event and we are personally excited and daunted by it!

Details will be released within the next few weeks but we are at the final stages of confirmation. The concept has been approved in principle and we are still tying up budget and logistic details which is always the case for such mega events. This will happen during the last week of June 2009 at the Singapore River. That is incredibly soon so you can imagine how much work there is to be done!

Finally, we are in talks to be part of a special gala concert in early June 2009. We will be debuting our new “360 Sawing” there so that show will be especially exciting!
