Top Magic Duo Bring Singapore Magic to the Masses in Feb 2009

While Ning & I are in the UK, we are still working with our team back home to ensure all is running smooth with our upcoming projects. Here is the official press release for our projects next month:

j-c-ning-lowHomegrown professional magic duo, J C Sum & ‘Magic Babe’ Ning

This Feb 09 sees Singapore’s top illusionists, J C Sum (32) & ‘Magic Babe’ Ning (26), bringing their homegrown magic to the masses in multiple mediums; from live shows & public events as well as on free television and print magazines.

The magic duo have placed Singapore on the world magic map by being the only Asians invited to perform and lecture at the inaugural Southern England Magic Convention in Surrey, England on 31 Jan 09. The prestigious event, held in the renowned Lakeside Entertainment Complex, will be attended by over 1,000+ participants. Ning, our country’s only professional female magician & escape artist, is the very first Singaporean in history to be the headlining performer for a UK convention. J C Sum, best known for teleporting himself up 50 floors in 5 seconds, is a featured lecturer at the same event.

Back in town on the afternoon of 2 Feb 09, J C & Ning immediately take to the stage at The Arena in Clarke Quay as stars of “Ultimate Magic”, Singapore’s first permanent illusion show. The 60min show, which is endorsed by the Singapore Tourism Board as a product of Singapore, is now into its second season and plays every Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm

Starting 22 Feb 09 at 9pm, the partners can be seen every week on MediaCorp Channel 8 in a dedicated magic segment as part of a brand new hour long variety TV show called “Five Stars Carnival”. The segment was created specifically for J C & Ning and will feature original illusions never before seen on TV

The pair has also been invited to write a monthly magic column in Teens magazine for a year, starting with the March 2009 issue.

Come 28 Feb 09, Ning & J C will be presenting “Magic Day @ The Arena”, an inaugural nation-wide magic event set to bring magic to the masses in Singapore & showcase homegrown talent. Held from 1:30pm – 8:30pm at The Arena in Clarke Quay, it is open to the public and will feature free performances by award-winning magicians and prominent members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, workshops conducted personally by J C and Ning, sales of heavily discounted original magic products, an informal mingling/ meet and greet session, as well as, two separate ticketed sessions.

The first ticketed session is a very special one with J C and Ning showcasing what they did during the very recent Southern England Magic Convention event – a magic lecture and performance, which earned them accolades from their peers in the UK, as well as, publicity and rave reviews from the media. The second ticketed session is for Ultimate Magic Season 2, with show tickets sold at a one-off special discounted rate of just S$20, down from the usual price of S$55. Season 2 of Ultimate Magic sees several changes from the first, with brand new illusions and acts, including a beautiful Neil Gaimen- inspired levitation sequence.
