It has been a really busy week, which I will talk more about in my next entry. But, amidst all the “work”, on Wed morning, Ning & I headed down to MediaCorp to film a cameo appearance on “The Noose”.
“The Noose” is a departure from other Channel 5′s comedies as it is not a variety show or sitcom but a satirical news program, like the Onion Network. They poke fun at current events or significant pop culture trends through satirical renactments, spoofs or fake news reports. Many viewers enjoy the show due to the witty lines and “news” coverage.
Anyway, we were asked to film a “news” story as ourselves based on our successful “The Impossible 4D Prediction” attempted in Jan 2010. The producers chose to do a story on Singapore Pools being upset with magicians who predict the lottery. HAHA!

Thanks to the producers of “The Noose” for recognising our “The Impossible 4D Prediction” as a significant local pop culture event! We are thrilled that the mega prediction has entered mainstream consciousness enough to be highlighted in a TV show in this way.
We grabbed the opportunity to make fun of ourselves and basically help put over the satire of our lottery prediction. We brought down the actual chest used in “The Impossible 4D Prediction” and made a series of “outrageous” predictions tongue in cheek.
The segment also had a very small fun jab at Channel U’s “The Illusionist” in recognition of certain similarities the TV serial, starring Thomas Ong and Ann Kok, had with our work. Apparently, we are not the only ones who observed similar elements that seemed very coincidental! The entries on Channel U’s “The Illusionist” have been very popular with readers and the similarities even got written up in an article in the Chinese tabloids.
Check it out when the episodes air in Jun 2010!
