Sorry! It has been a while since I last blogged. It has been a busy time with many many things going on in my life right now. You might have read Ning’s blog that highlighted some of our recent projects and activities.
I’ve been attempting to finish rewriting my illusion books admist preparing for a number of corporate shows and developing new illusions for Ning & myself.
I’m continually looking for new illusions and material to add to and improve our shows. My sketch book is often filled with new ideas and designs. However, turning sketched concepts to physical reality is a different kind of challenge altogether. One of the values we bring to clients and our own shows is the fact that we can turn an idea into a physical performance on stage. Idea generation is the crux of innovation but it is the implementation of the idea that is often the most difficult part of a creative process.
We just completed a new version of my “Crystal Striptease” illusion that I first performed with Jamie Yeo during the President’s Star Charity Show on live TV in 2004. The illusion has been completely redesigned and rechoreographed and of course, now features the smoking hot ‘Magic Babe’ Ning. This version was custom designed for her and rehearsals have been going well.

In December, we will also be breaking in a new illusion for Ning. This is will part of her professional reportoire and we intend to feature it when she headlines the Southern England Magic Convention in Jan 2009. In this new illusion, Ning will attempt to pass her body through a steel plate. Her soft but confident sensual movements are meant to contrast and be a visual juxtaposition of the cold steel plated prop.
Our intention is to add both the above illusions as well as our ‘new’ levitation (that we first performed in India last year) to Season 2 of ”Ultimate Magic”. We’ll see how that goes.
Look out for them!
