“Ultimate Magic” Sneak Previews & Load-in
Sneak previews for “Ultimate Magic” are about a month away! We just loaded into The Arena today. More than 1.5 tons of equipment was brought in, including our motorcycle illusion, 8ft giant industrial fan, “Extreme Burn” and many more. Renovations are only almost done so there was a bit of maneuvering to do.
This is the first venue in Singapore that is being specially designed for an illusion show. I was just looking at the blueprints of the stage plan I drew up on my laptop and realized just how detailed it had to be.
We created two brand new steel reinforced stage extensions to take the 1.5-ton load of illusion equipment as well as an elaborate curtain system that creates a proscenium stage for our show during the evening but opens up completely to create an open thrust stage for the live musc band at night. Walls were literally broken through to create the additional backstage needed and ceilings had to be raised to accomodate the height of our props.
We will begin rehearsals on Wed amidst preparing for Ning’s mega escape as well as interviews and photoshoots.
Just like magic, you will see really no major change to the front facade of the stage but behind the scenes, everything is different.

Our teleportation chamber has not been loaded in as we are still running trials this week. Below is a photo from last week where we were testing the chamber at the Singapore Flyer.

Sneak preview dates are only 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 Aug 2008 (Sats), 7.30pm. Sneak preview tickets are only $40/ adults & $20/ children (6 – 12 years old). All prices include 1 standard drink.

It looks like lots of thing need to be done for a what looks like simple permanent illusion show to people. I wonder it is tough being a magician?

I believe all the work will be worth it when you see the reaction you get from your audience. Nothing beat the amazed reaction you get from the audience.

Yes. Tickets will be available on the day of the mega escape. Trust me the show is not that simple :- )
